This uploading of non-PD material into Open Source has been occurring in all the several years I have been coming here. IA has generally done a great job in culling this unwanted material through all these several years--and the volume of postings to OS is crushingly heavy.

IA has lots of problems. Remember about a year and a half ago when the search function in Feature Films did not work for several months? But there are great successes, too.

For those of us who contribute to these successes, maybe a few hurt feelings are in order. After all, much of what has been of concern in the postings to the forum has been met with pure silence. So, hey IA, what's the score on email protection and film submission follow through?

A guess:

Archive was sold

Site will be massively redesigned

Most content will disappear

Ads will appear

Access fees will be charged for Prelinger ephemeral content

Let's just wait for "regular staff input" before jumping to any conclusions.
